TYPO3 Drag-and-Drop

Managing your TYPO3 Website just got easier with TYPO3’s drag-and-drop feature. Now, you can move and organize content blocks on your page without any hassle. Simply click, drag, and drop to put things where you want them. No coding skills are needed!

Drag and drop makes work in the TYPO3 backend considerably more comfortable. Content elements can be dragged with the mouse to a new position or into another column in the page module without editors having to open forms. This saves clicks and makes changes to the page structure visible quickly.

The principle also works in the page tree: pages are moved or copied by dragging them to the desired place. When releasing, you choose whether the page should be inserted before, after or inside another. Files from the file system can likewise be dragged directly into content elements.

For editors this means intuitive operation that requires little training. Especially with landing pages with many blocks, the order can be changed in seconds and the result checked immediately. Container elements and grid layouts also support moving.

Note that permissions and backend layouts determine where elements may be moved. With clear rules you prevent content from accidentally ending up in unsuitable areas. For people who do not use a mouse, TYPO3 additionally offers alternatives through context menus.

We adapt backend layouts so that drag and drop works sensibly and safely.

Moving also works on tablets and touch devices, which makes maintenance on the go easier. Test new layouts with editors before launch so that processes are understandable and mistakes when moving are noticed early.

A short training also shows how accidental moves can be corrected quickly with the undo function and the history.

Especially with frequent layout changes, this way of working saves noticeable time.

In short: Simple content creation with TYPO3 Drag-and-Drop.
