TYPO3 Extension Builder
TYPO3 Extension Builder Explained
The TYPO3 Extension Builder is your ideal tool! It helps you to easily design and create your extensions for TYPO3, making your website more powerful and unique. No coding knowledge is required - just follow the simple steps and you're good to go!
The Extension Builder is a tool with which developers plan TYPO3 extensions graphically and generate them as a basic framework. Instead of creating every file by hand, they define models, fields and relations in an interface, and the builder creates classes, tables, templates and configurations from it.
This speeds up getting started with Extbase and Fluid considerably. A model with properties such as title, description or date automatically receives database fields, repository, controller and backend forms. Plugins and modules can also be prepared so that only the business logic has to be added.
The generated code follows TYPO3 conventions and forms a clean basis. It is important to review it afterwards, adapt it to your standards and secure it with tests. For complex requirements the basic framework alone is not enough, but it saves the routine work.
Note that the builder is mainly used in development environments and should not be installed on live systems. Version the generated extension with Git so that changes remain traceable.
We develop custom TYPO3 extensions and use proven tools so that your project is implemented quickly and maintainably.
For teams the builder is also a good learning tool. New developers see how a clean Extbase extension is structured and can use the generated code as a template for their own projects. This creates uniform structures that are easier to maintain and extend later, even when several people work on the project.
Plan the data structure carefully before starting, because later changes to models require adjustments in the database and templates. A short sketch of the relations saves time and prevents detours during development.
