GmbH in TYPO3 – Glossary
TYPO3 GmbH
TYPO3 GmbH is a company that manages the TYPO3 CMS. They offer support, services, and development for TYPO3 users. Their main goal is to ensure TYPO3 stays secure, updated, and reliable. They help businesses and TYPO3 developers by providing expert advice and solutions. If you use TYPO3, TYPO3 GmbH is there to help you get the most out of it.
A TYPO3 GmbH is a company in the legal form of a limited liability company that offers TYPO3 services or uses the software for its own purposes. For customers the legal form is an indication of reliability, because a GmbH is liable with its company assets and is subject to clear requirements.
When choosing an agency, the legal form plays a role alongside experience, references and team. A GmbH is entered in the commercial register, must keep an imprint with details of management and register number and is obliged to prepare annual accounts. This creates transparency.
In the TYPO3 environment many agencies are organised as a GmbH. They offer consulting, development, hosting, maintenance and support. Many are members of the TYPO3 Association and thus contribute to the further development of the system. Membership and certifications can give additional hints about quality.
Clear contracts are important for cooperation. Regulate scope of services, response times, availability, data protection and usage rights to the code created. A data processing agreement under the GDPR belongs here if the agency has access to personal data.
Ask about contact persons and substitution arrangements. Especially for maintenance and support it is crucial that knowledge does not depend on a single person.
Do not compare offers by price alone. Pay attention to quality processes, documentation, security and the willingness to accompany you in the long term.
Locations and language skills can also be important, for example in projects in the DACH region.
