Command in TYPO3 – Glossary
TYPO3 commands
TYPO3 commands are a handy way to do things quickly on your website. You can use them to update your TYPO3 website, clear old data, or set things up without needing to click around. Just type a command into your terminal, and TYPO3 takes care of the rest. It’s an easy way to manage your site and keep things running smoothly!
TYPO3 commands are instructions that you run via the command line. They handle tasks that would be awkward in the backend or are meant to run automatically at regular intervals. A command consists of the name and optional parameters, for example to clear the cache or to update the database.
Frequently used commands include clearing all caches, updating the database schema, running the scheduler, creating backend users and checking system settings. The command overview shows what is available in your installation, including the commands of installed extensions.
Commands are particularly practical in scripts. During deployment they can be run one after another so that every release proceeds in the same way. Maintenance tasks such as cleaning up old records can also be scheduled via cron jobs and do not have to be triggered manually.
Developers create custom commands with the Symfony Console. This produces imports, reports or clean-up jobs that suit your project. A short help text and sensible parameters make the commands usable for others in the team too.
Pay attention to order and environment: run commands in the test system first and back up the database before larger changes. We create processes and commands for you that make your work with TYPO3 reliable and faster.
Anyone who works with the command line often benefits from aliases and short scripts for recurring processes.
In short: TYPO3 commands for fast website management.
