- Open Source: It’s free to use and you can customize it as you need.
- Extensible: You can add extra features using TYPO3 extensions.
Why Use TYPO3?
- User-friendly: Easy for both beginners and advanced users.
- Community support: Lots of help available from other TYPO3 users and developers.

A model describes in TYPO3 extensions which data an object has and how it behaves. It is a central part of the MVC principle used by Extbase. Examples are product, event, employee or address. Each model contains properties such as title, description, price or date.
The database table and backend form result from the model. Fields are given types and rules, such as required information, lengths or selection options. Relations between models, for example a product with several categories, can also be mapped.
Repositories load and save models. Controllers use them to pass data to templates. This keeps logic separate from presentation. Changes to the model, such as a new field, take effect cleanly in all areas, and the code stays understandable.
Good models are clearly named and lean. They contain only what belongs to the domain and avoid logic that is better placed in services. Typing increases reliability, and validations protect against faulty input.
Plan the data model carefully, because later changes mean adjustments in the database, templates and partly existing data. A short sketch of the relations before starting saves effort.
Multilingualism and scheduling should also be considered early so that records can be translated and published on a schedule.
Document fields and their meaning so that editors and developers speak the same language.
Test models with realistic data, including special cases.
We develop data models for TYPO3 extensions that are clean and extensible.
This keeps your application maintainable in the long term.
