Interface in TYPO3 – Glossary
TYPO3 Interface
The TYPO3 interface is the main way you interact with the TYPO3 content management system. Think of it like the control panel of a car. It’s where you manage and update your TYPO3 Website. You use it to add new pages, edit content, and organize everything. It’s designed to be user-friendly so you can easily keep your site up-to-date without needing to know a lot about coding.
The user interface of the TYPO3 backend is designed so that editors can work productively even without technical knowledge. On the left is the module bar with the most important areas, next to it the page tree, on the right the workspace. Everything is arranged so that frequent tasks can be reached with a few clicks.
You edit content in forms with tabs that group related fields. A rich text editor allows formatting as in a word processor. With the preview you immediately see how the page will look in the frontend and can correct it before publication.
The interface has been modernised in recent versions: it is clearer, faster and easier to operate, including with a keyboard and on smaller screens. Dark mode and customisable views help editorial teams in everyday work.
A good interface also depends on sensible configuration. Hide fields and modules that are not needed, assign understandable labels and provide suitable templates. That way editors find their way around quickly.
We adapt the interface to your team and offer training so that your editorial staff work confidently with TYPO3.
Short learning videos or a one-page guide are especially effective for people changing careers. Show the five most frequent tasks of your team step by step, such as creating a page, changing text, replacing an image, checking the preview and publishing. This lowers the threshold, and the number of queries to administration and agency noticeably falls, which saves time and costs in the long run.
In short: TYPO3 user interface: Simple and intuitive to use.
