TYPO3 Association Strategy

Current Situation

The TYPO3 Association has focused on professionalizing services around TYPO3, but it is now time to focus on the main product. The market is developing in the direction of SaaS, subscription models, no-code/low-code offerings, and cloud-based solutions, but neither the TYPO3 Association nor TYPO3 GmbH has acted on these market opportunities and threats.

Vision, Mission, and Purpose

The TYPO3 Association's vision is to empower everyone to unlock their potential, creating opportunities through content. Its mission is to enable freedom, interconnection, and collaboration through sustainable, world-class, open content management software. Its purpose is to equalize opportunities through open source.

Values

The TYPO3 Association's core values are trust, respect, openness, and sharing. Additional values include empathy and understanding, freedom, patience, exchange, and tolerance.

Recap of the Web Engineering Unconference (WEUC) 2023

A two-day unconference about web technologies and performance, limited to 100 attendees on september 22-24, 2023 at Palma de Mallorca, Spain.

Ingo Schmitt, lead of the TYPO3 Business Control Committee (BCC), attended on behalf of the Meet TYPO3 initiative.

Highlights:

• 33 sessions held across three tracks, covering technology, business strategies, leadership, business organization, personal health, and artificial intelligence.
• AI tools to help in the development process and testing of web applications were popular topics.
• A significant number of non-technical talks were given, including on nurturing mental health and approaches to remuneration.

Significance:

WEUC is a great opportunity for web developers and other stakeholders to share knowledge and experience, and to learn about the latest trends and technologies in the field. The unconference format fosters open discussion and collaboration, and the small size of the event creates a family atmosphere.

Free TYPO3 Introduction for Students

A free one-day introduction to TYPO3 for students, covering technical concepts to development on November 3, 2023 at Rhine-Waal University, Kamp-Lintfort, Germany hosted by the TYPO3 User Group RheinRuhr. All students are invited to join.

T3BOARD Is Coming! Save The Date!

T3BOARD, the longest-running TYPO3 community event is now coming to Obergurgl, Ötztal, Tyrol, Austria from 13th January to 20 January, 2024. T3BOARD is open to all members of the TYPO3 community, regardless of experience level.

Knowledge Sharing Activities:

• Skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing, and other winter sports activities during the day
• Sessions on TYPO3 and IT topics in the evenings
• Opportunity to network with other TYPO3 users and experts
