Viernheim is a thriving town located in the heart of the **Rhine-Neckar Metropolitan Region in southern Hesse, Germany**. Known for its strong community spirit and vibrant culture, the city administration recognized the growing need to modernize its digital presence. Their main goal was to create a modern, **user-friendly website** that provides easy access to important city information, services, and updates.
NITSAN & Pixelegg: A Collaboration for Viernheim Website

The website relaunch required meticulous planning and smoother execution, which was made possible through strong collaboration with our service partner [**Pixelegg GmbH**](https://www.pixelegg.de/). Pixelegg GmbH was vital in managing client communication, providing strategic consulting, and offering technical support to ensure the project stayed on track and aligned with the client’s vision. Meanwhile, **NITSAN** was responsible for the **TYPO3 upgrade**, website redesign, Development, and managing the **technical updates**. By combining expertise, both teams worked together smoothly to create a modern, functional, and easy-to-use website.
Goals for the Viernheim website

The current website was not well structured and technical lacked functionality, It needs a complete relaunch with a more user-friendly design and better technical features, The new website should reflect Viernheim's unique charm and provide an easy way for people to explore local traditions and learn more about the town. We also designed and enhanced the UI/UX Design to deliver an intuitive, accessible, and engaging user experience.
- Redesign the website with **modern** and **user-friendly UI/UX**.
- Enhance web performance by meeting **Core Web Vitals standards**.
- Promote **city services**, local clubs, and **community activities**
- Highlight **urban development projects** and initiatives to keep citizens informed.
- Introduce **interactive maps** to **guide visitors** to key locations and facilities.
- Create a dedicated section for "**Visit Viernheim**," showcasing attractions, monuments, and historical sites.
- Implement **Barrier-free solutions** that can be compliant with **BITV2.0, WCAG2.0**, and **BSFG** standards.
- Creating a **City Event Management Platform** lets admins easily organize and schedule events.

We recognized the need to update the website with a focus on user-friendliness and created a lightweight **platform** that facilitates access to the activities and news of the city of Viernheim. The website offers **better access to public services** , guides visitors with interactive maps and ensures an **accessible web** experience for all.
### **Dedicated Page for City officials**
Viernheim's city officials wanted a simple solution that would help citizens easily find information about services, local politics, city administration, and ongoing projects. To meet this need, we created an **easy-to-use navigation** menu that helps residents quickly find the information they are looking for.
### **User-Friendly Portal for Cultural Insights**
The city has many famous monuments, landmarks, and cultural sites that reflect its rich history. Officials wanted a simple solution allowing people to easily find information about these sites in one place.
For that, we implemented the following solution

- Highlight upcoming cultural events and festivals.
- Community feedback section for suggestions
- Separate modules for clubs and community pages

### **Smart Solutions for Housing and Infrastructure**
Viernheim has many urban areas and good infrastructure. To make it easier for people to access information and services, we created a simple structure where they can find details about city areas, health and social services, and educational institutions in Viernheim.
- **We added a “Viernheim for” page** - which offered sections for volunteers, seniors, children, and youth development.
- **Introduced an ecology module** for nature, rentals, and climate protection news.
- Created a new section for schools and education institutes.
### **Intranet App for City Office Administration**
We created a modern Intranet application for the city of Viernheim. This platform is designed to make sharing data, files, and information between city administrators faster, easier, and more secure.

With the website relaunch, complex data representation was transformed into **responsive** and intuitive **visual elements that** effectively visualize glimpses of Viernheim. The modern appearance ensures the website is not only functional but also appealing to a new-age audience.
